✨EARLY LIFE

Born in a Ghanaian refugee camp amid Liberia's Civil War, I immigrated to the U.S. at one. Growing up across three states, I witnessed my resilient mom navigate adversity. My mother's persistent survival inspired me to be outspoken and protective of members of marginalized communities, similar to mine.

As a first generation high school graduate, I embarked on a transformative journey at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Originally drawn to journalism, my path shifted under the mentorship of Dana Bisignani propelling me into the realm of political advocacy. Joining Advocates for Youth, I spearheaded youth reproductive justice campaigns and later collaborated with influential organizations like Planned Parenthood and Girls for Gender Equity. After receiving two bachelors degrees, one in political science and the other in multimedia journalism, I worked primarily as a cultural liaison officer, early-policy researcher, gender justice storyteller, and youth reproductive justice advocate.

🌟 Diverse Policy Roles and Impactful Projects

From a women's economic policy scholar at The Century Foundation to an early childhood policy consultant at School Readiness Consulting, my journey included crafting research, facilitating workshops, and co-producing documentaries amplifying community voices. Prior to that work, I led the coordination of Immigrant and Indigenous social services at Cultural Diversity Resources, and served on Minnesota Governor Walsh's Young Women's Cabinet. My diverse experiences uniquely equip me to contribute effectively to political advocacy initiatives, and informs my advocacy work and community engagement efforts, as well as, inspires my digital media art.

📽️ Fusing Multimedia Storytelling with Social Justice

The tragic events of 2020 catalyzed my local organizing efforts and led me to a pivotal decision in my career pursuits. Recognizing the power of storytelling in enacting change–much like what I witnessed as an organizer in Minnesota during the Minneapolis riots, and as an early childhood policy consultant–I decided to pursue a master's at NYU Steinhardt's School of Media, Culture, and Communication. Upon graduation, I aim to fuse my skills in multimedia storytelling with my deep passion for social justice. As an influential film and mass media producer, I aspire to bridge communication gaps between communities and political leaders, advocating for systemic change.

In accordance with my advocacy efforts, I am a storyteller who has always been driven in this work by my passion to bring authentic stories to life. I believe storytelling is an important function of political advocacy, and I hope my work forever reflects this.

WHY WORK WITH ME?

I grow mission-driven programs

In my current full-time role as Senior Prevention Coordinator at the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault, I manage Project DOT—a youth-centered sexual violence prevention program rooted in community, culture, and youth empowerment. When I stepped into this role, I focused on strengthening how the program communicated its impact, engaged partners, and supported the young people at its core. Over time, my management helped evolve the vision for what the program could become within the prevention field.

I deepened relationships with community-based organizations, refined how we presented our work publicly, and introduced more intentional communication practices. Through redesigned resources, refined partner engagement strategies and consistent digital storytelling, the program’s visibility grew by more than 200%. This growth brought in a wave of new partnerships across New York City, within one year. This momentum expanded our reach, enabling Project DOT to connect with more youth, collaborate with more stakeholders, and position the program as a leader in culturally responsive violence prevention.

During my three years as an Early Childhood Policy Associate , I worked at the intersection of research, storytelling, and community engagement. I co-led the creation of The Side by Side Playbook, a bilingual multimedia project that uplifted family and educator narratives across multiple states. Collaborating closely with storytellers, videographers, and policy experts, I helped craft written and digital stories that allowed policymakers and practitioners to better understand community needs.

I also designed an equity-centered qualitative research rubric that was later adopted by Minnesota’s Chief Inclusion Officer to guide statewide early childhood systems research. This work strengthened my skills in facilitation, curriculum development, partner engagement, and cross-team coordination—skills I now apply to help organizations translate insight into impact.

Open Book

I design culturally grounded curricula and evaluation systems that drive real, measurable impact.

Curriculum development has been central to my work, and  greatly aided my role at The Alliance. I led a comprehensive redesign of the Project DOT curriculum, modernizing content, integrating trauma-informed and culturally grounded approaches, and ensuring it reflected the lived realities of the communities we serve. I also recruited, trained, and supervised a team of young adult coordinators, strengthening program sustainability. To support facilitators, I designed over eight full curriculum presentation decks and a suite of companion resources that brought lessons to life and created consistency across sites.

To pair these improvements with stronger internal systems, I built a new evaluation process using Microsoft Forms, making it easier to collect partner feedback and track stories and data demonstrating real impact. What began as a simple feedback tool has become an essential resource for our grants and communications teams, helping us tell a richer, more accurate story of program success.
